4) Once Saved - 4:22
A common discussion, or sometimes argument, you will here in Christian circles is around the questions, “once someone is ‘saved’ is that it, it’s done, nothing can take it away”? I don’t really answer it here, just sort of pose some questions, both earthly and spiritual. VERSE ONE says “once saved to a hard drive, how long does it last?”, well, we know not forever, but a long time, and we also know from watching the news, it can come back to bite you in the ass. I don’t know about you, but I would not want all the stupid “unChristlike” things I have done laid bare for all to see, though once I move from this realm I probably won’t care at all. VERSE TWO starts “once saved to an oracle”. The original was once saved to a sacrament, but I eventually felt that was a little too specific. Oracle allows not only for Christianity, but the heritage of, and even other faiths based in the same God as Christianity. Kind of Old Testament is the “burnt offering and sacrifice, can become a spiritual vice”. That’s cool, because it all has to be kept in perspective and context, context…very important. Although the Old Testament can be criticized as being harsh, it is also full of Grace & Faith. Abraham, the father of the Jews and ultimately Christianity, was merited most of all for his faith, not his sacrifice. VERSE THREE. Once saved in the Spirit? Well, Jesus said we must be born again, (John Chapter 3 / great conversation between Jesus and a “Religious Leader), and I can point to a pivotal point in my life, when I had my ‘mystical’ spiritual experience with God, even Jesus Christ. I cannot prove, as no one can, that once this happens one would never turn away from God, but for me it is hard to imagine. I can imagine heaven above, and Hell below, but it is hard from me to imagine God turning me away for some man defined sin as long as the relationship is still alive and kicking. As far as ‘once saved, always saved’ or the so famous accusation in the form of a question “how can God send someone to Hell”, I follow the C. S. Lewis thought from his book “The Great Divorce” ( In the end there are two different kinds of people. Those who say to God “Thy will be done”, and those to whom God says, in the end, “Thy will be done”. Nuff Said. Frazier

I had the majority of tracks done on this song And I was still feeling, something is missing. Well I got my old Bari Saxophone out, that does not play very well but can get some tracks down, and spent a little sweat time in the studio to come up with an intro riff that re-occurs throughout the song, and even a little horn section to add to the lead section that in my mind is kind of Sgt. Peppers like. I could not figure out what to do with the lead section, and good old “childhood started saxophone playing”, came to the rescue. It’s funny that sometimes, I have to sing the part while I’m working on it. Because of my inability to perfectly translate from my head to lead guitar or sax, I sing it, then copy what I just sang. This also helps with the “chops” as my embouchure is not in great shape as I am not playing much of late. Once I got the ‘British like’ (I don’t even know why I say British like accept for Beatles I guess) lead section down, the ending which needed some lead and Bari sax improvisation came thru pretty good for me, or so I thought. You’ll be your own judge on that. Anyways, I had fun with it, but would love to have a fat budget to go in a studio with A players and cut this with more live life! Peace. Frazier
