about

During the early going of Covid19, I used some time to cut some tracks in my personal studio. No players so just me on all instruments, guitar, bass, drum, keys, etc.... I'd like to cut this with a budget in a "studio". If I make some money off the demo I'll be able to. Otherwise, well, simply put, it's the age old story of an artist. This song, Jesus is Love, is currently the title track of what would be a new CD project. Peace. Frazier

lyrics

Jesus is Love

Verse 1:
It's not the way you sound - when you hit the ground
It's more like how you feel - when it's getting real
It's not a raging fire - that makes a burning love
And only time will tell - if we're down - or if we're up above

Br/Refrain:
If you believe you better hit the ground running
You best believe the other side they will be gunning for you
Shrewd as a viper innocent as a dove
Jesus is.................... Love

Verse 2:
The smell of sweet perfume - is floating in the air
she's walking down the street - man it's everywhere
who will be adequate - to embrace and tell
some find it heavenly - but to some, it's smelling just like hell

Verse 3:
I'd rather not divide - just be a helpful guide
to a steady love - that's waiting down inside
Just like a mustard seed - can become a tree
so little steps of faith - can leap mountains if we just let it be

AS STATED EARLIER, this is a personal studio demo. So, this is just some RECORDING NOTES on the demo. Jesus is Love. I think even those who don’t believe He was the Christ told of in the Jewish faith for thousands of years, I think most would agree, Love and forgiveness was a pretty big deal to Him. This is a pretty basic song. 1st verse about H&H. 2nd verse about Wisdom, fragrant to some and repulsive to others. (2nd Corinthians 2:15-16 NIV) 3rd verse. Well, I have plenty of agnostic friends, and or those who think it ignorant to believe in after life. My take, “If you believe there’s nothing after death, you’re only having faith in something less”. Recording, this was a challenge at times. I started with a scratch acoustic and vocal with "no click track", and had a hard time keeping it together at times with drums and bass as they were put down. Organ (roland Jx-1) wasn’t so hard, as it just flows, but guitar and bass and drums are so together, it was a challenge at times. I used a cheap guitar, old Japan made, that I still have from my Nashville days. The amp, a little Kay 803, well, I sold it and was shipping it out, but that day, in stead of just testing it, used it to cut the electric guitar track. Then shipped it out. Love it when I can cut tracks with store gear or my own before it leaves. Bass is also, old beat up Japan made bass. I almost sold it years ago, and would not come down from 100 to 80, and So So glad I didn’t. Even though intonation is a challenge at times, and limits what strings I can use in combination sometimes, it just has an old vibe in how it will cut direct, though I usually record it onto 2 channels, one direct and one with a mic in the room, and depending on the song, and what type bass is needed, that says what the blend will be between the 2. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. Peace be with you. Frazier
