about

I wrote this song over a decade ago. I played it live once that I remember, at a Lion's Club lunch 10 years ago or better. Otherwise I do not remember any other live performances of this tune, or any 'finished' recordings. I Got STUCK. That happens in both writing and recording. I pondered going further developing the lyrics, which I have been doing of late with some other older songs. With this one, I decided to leave it as an "abstract painting" and let others fill in what they will.

So, after quite a while since recording, I have patched my studio gear back together in new formation so I can do some recording. (2022) When I fired up my 24 track ADAT, this was the song that came up. According to my garage band files, I had attempted a demo on this in 2016 or before, and never finished it. Meant to be?

I listened and thought this wasn't too far off and with some lead section guitar (and some harmonic guitar), back ground vocals and mixing I might could finish it. Since I needed to get a mix from multi track to computer (just to see if I could), I decided to take a few hours and get this done to some level of self satisfaction.

This 'painting', should anyone be curious, is based on some scripture. The gospel of Luke 1:39-45, The gospel of John chapter 3, The book of Ephesians 4:9, some wandering and temptation for 40 days, & well after ‘Midnight’ Jesus being arrested and going thru human hell before dying and rising. My interpretations in music & lyrical style. The "Little Things" are basically 2 babies that end up having a world of impact upon human civilization.

This is the ‘Possible’ title track of an album I’m working on right now. I got a ways to go recording wise, but the songs are basically chosen. For now I’m mixing analog, so I won’t be able to just go back and make changes. That gives it a feel of seriousness, because once the paint dries, it’s done.

Peace be with you all and thanks for your support. Frazier

lyrics

It's the little things, that make life such a big deal.
And the big things, you know sometimes they don't look…. real.

Cousin Lizzy's having a baby. Mother Mary went to see.
Lizzy's baby jumped inside her, because she knew what
that child was gonna be.
Yes she knew what Mary's child was gonna be.

Gonna ride with that Serpent. Gonna fly with that Dove.
Gonna catch that midnight train, headed to hell, and then rising above.
Headin’ to Hell, and then rising….

Lizzy's child went to the wilderness, living on the land and calling the lost.
People came from miles and miles to wade in the water, and count that cost.
To wade in the water, and count that cost. How much it gonna cost to ride?

Gonna ride with that Serpent. Gonna fly with that Dove.
Gonna catch that midnight train, headed to hell, and then rising above.
Headed to Hell, and then rising….

On this track I am the only player of instruments and for vocals. Not by choice, but convenience. Finding the time to record between work, it is rarely scheduled. If I sell a guitar, I gotta ship that out because that pays bills. My art has yet to do that, but there is Always hope. Amen!
